My iPhone won't turn on and respond to anything

I've tried rebooting it by holding down the top and home button simultaneously but nothing happens. What can I do? Also, when I plug it into iTunes, it doesn't show up.

There could be several reasons for this.

You might have a faulty battery. Does it charge when you plug it into a wall adapter?

It's also worth checking the port at the bottom of  your phone that you plug your charger cable into. You might find that it has accumulated lint or dust over time with use (being stuffed into handbags, back pockets etc...) Try cleaning it out with an air compresser blower or similar.

Your cable might be faulty. Have you tried to plug it in with a different cable or adapter? These are fairly cheap to buy from the apple store or a reputable electronics dealer. Better still, if you know someone with an iphone, borrow theirs and try before you fork out the money.

Lastly, the phone could be fried. If all else fails, take it back to an Apple store and get the 'geniuses' there to have a look for you.

Good luck!
